There were twelve African Americans. They were: Martin Luther King Jr. (Jr.), Ralph David Abernathy, James Bevel, John Lewis, Andrew Young, Cesar Chavez, Huey Newton, Stokely Carmichael, Elijah Muhammed, Robert Williams, Malcolm X. The other three were Chavez, Newton, and Carmichael.
